Celebrating unconditional love.

A chat with 3 brand new moms.

Today we’re celebrating the purest, most unconditional love known: motherly love. A bond so deep and natural that it’s to no surprise there's a special day to celebrate our moms. The origins of this celebration are a little more than 100 years-old and it was created by a woman who wanted to celebrate her own mother.

But how about the feelings of becoming a mother? We’ve had a chat with three brand new baby mommas who are, by coincidence, all mommy’s of baby girls:

Sarah (mom of Léa) @Berlin:

How would you describe the feeling of becoming a mother?

Becoming a mother is the best and hardest thing. I know, big cliché, but oh so true! I have never been challenged so much over the past year (that includes pregnancy and giving birth!), but I have also never felt love like this before. My heart literally broke from hearing her first giggle, so blessed to have experienced that! Since I have become a mother I appreciate things in life more now, small things that I took for granted before have now become luxuries, such as taking a shower, doing my beauty routine, putting on make-up, eating a meal patiently or cuddling with my pugs... I do this by the likes and rhythm of my daughter now and that’s not always easy but oh so worth it!!

What is the most important advice that you want to give to Léa?

I will give you what I know from my own particular path while allowing you to walk your own.

Jessi (mom of Maxime) @ Antwerp:

How would you describe the feeling of becoming a mother?

Only one word comes to mind... overwhelming. It feels like you can see a new colour, the prettiest colour you have ever seen but never knew existed before.

What is the most important advice that you want to give to Maxime?

Don’t let anyone set limits for yourself, including you. Travel, experience, grow, learn and use all your potential to break down boundaries on your path... and if things get tough I’ll try to be there in anyway you need me to.

Gabriela (mom of Estelle) @Leuven:

How would you describe the feeling of becoming a mother?

The most miraculous feeling you can ever have as a person. A little creature that grows inside you, that  you patiently wait for during 9 months & that you instantly love from the moment she's there. It immediately gives you a sense of responsibility in a way you've never felt before. It makes you so proud of that little miracle.

What is the most important advice that you want to give to Estelle?

The Future is female my lovely girl. Everything is possible as long as you respect yourself and others.
